Taught by Lisa, who competes and judges across multiple scent work organizations. You’ll learn what clean criteria looks like, how to read your dog, and how to build skills that translate when it counts.
In Scent Seekers, you and your dog will focus on:
Teamwork + search-ready communication so you can work as a clean, confident team
Independent searching + problem-solving (your dog learns to stay in the hunt without constant help)
Confidence and commitment to odor in new spaces, new containers, and new pictures
Reading your dog’s “I found it” moments so you can call it with clarity
Competition fundamentals—what to expect, how searches are structured, and how to train with purpose
Leash handling + body mechanics that support the search (without accidentally steering it)
Focus shifting + start-line skills: work, reset, re-engage—without losing drive
Choice-making under distraction so your dog can stay in the game when the environment gets spicy
You’ll leave with a plan for what to practice between classes and what “good progress” actually looks like for a future competition dog.
